Yup! STILL a lonely-horny-Chusid sausagefest.

is lonely for you?
Of course there are always more men signed up on this type of site (right now more than a 100 men and 10 couples looking for a 2nd wife or pilegesh), but this is the only Jewish place online that I know of where one can sign up if he wants specifically a pilegesh or a 2nd wife.
Plus the mere existence of this site and the blog has already generated much discussion on this subject all over the world, which was one of the reasons for it.
The way Jews were redeemed from Egyptian exile
mentality was to to take a sheep - an Egyptian deity and publicly slaughter it as a korban to Hashem.
By making this site I am helping Jews realize that we are living in the time of redemption when we can freely live according to the Torah without the need to dress up the Torah in the ugly garments of various foreign ideologies and religions.

redemption for who?

funny how people sometimes point to the torah in support of polygamy… I read the same torah and find the stories of polygamous families to be so full of pain and conflict…
January 21st, 2008 at 6:51 pm
ok ok..
the guy who runs this site is likely responsible for at least half of those female profiles - this whole thing is retro and misogynistic not to mention illegal (not that legality is much of an indicator) I don’t believe any sane woman wants to be a fifth wheel baby factory/sex toy
contrary to the prevailing ultra-orthodox belief judaism is not a static religion = it is fluid and dynamic and has been evolving since ezra and nechemia consolidated and tribalized the various yahweh cults.
in its current stage of evolution it is strictly monogamous - and with good reason
in a modern society where women are not chattel to be bought for a dowry, they do not tolerate misogynistic patriarchal arrangements
now if you were advocating complete sexual plurality, that would be a different story

interesting take on polygamy
this differs from biblical polygamy as well as polygamy as practiced in the arab world in that it is
-entirely theoretical: the woman has not yet had to practice what she preaches because obviously her husband knows that deep down she’s talking out of her ass
-is controlled by the women involved ie Man-Sharing as opposed to the more standard patriarchal form
-the corollary to the above is that is geared toward specifically female interests (older partnerless women, instead of middle aged men trying to grab up young chicks as is common when serving male interests)
-the circumstances in which it would work are very limited because it depends on too much altruism from one party, the first wife. As our foremother sarai shows us, some things are easier to talk about than to actually live with. As I know from my own experience as well.
you folks should also read about modern day US polygamy as practiced by mormon fringe groups.

pseudo,
I believe that most women in our culture do not prefer mutual sexual plurality.
Most would prefer mutual monogamy.
I’m not a man so I don’t know, but my impression is that most MEN prefer monogamous marriages as well! Though many of them might like to engage in occasional dalliances on the side.
Very few wives are totally cool with that, but a fair number of women would be willing to overlook it (while reserving the same right for herself of couse), which can not be said for another serious relationship, such as another girlfriend, mistress or wife.
January 21st, 2008 at 7:10 pm
another suggestion to the polygamy fans out there,
for the sake of fairness I propose that the party seeking increased freedoms should be willing to limit certain other freedoms… for example, if he’s going to marry another wife, the wives should be free to walk out as they please, while he should be obligated to them until death do them part.

marriage is a relationship and a responsibility, not a 24 hour sex party, i really think one marriage at a time is more than enough for most people
January 22nd, 2008 at 5:59 pm
especially for women who tend to take on the bulk of the responsibility nowadays
