The above is footage of Rebbetzin [Rabbanit] Bruriah Keren, resident of Ramat Bet Shemesh Bet, recently arrested and accused of physically (and perhaps sexually) abusing her children, of which she has 12. How many of the 12 that were abused is not so clear. Her children range in age from 8 - 33. Most were not living at home.
This comes straight after another couple, immigrants (olim) from the US, were arrested for similar accusations.
This news is hitting Israel hard; this Rabanit has been blogged about quite a bit recently and has been dubbed names such as the 'Burqa babe' and the like. Reason for this is the way she chooses to garb herself– if you thought the Palestinian women were strict, forget it– in her 'hyper-tznius', she wears multiple layers of clothing, keeps her hands face completely covered, and will not even speak if there is a man present. Women in the RBS Bet community who look up to her and follow her ways hold her in very high regard.
In court, she would not speak, and had only her eyes visible to the judge after he refused to allow the court to be in session unless she revealed herself.
Among the charges for abuse are tying up her children for multiple hours at a time as 'punishment', forcing them to urinate and defecate on themselves; hitting them with belts and electric cables; and other signs of abuse.
Recently it has been reported that her children were as well involved in acts of incest. A 24-year old son was also taken into custody for committing incest with one or more of his siblings.

She sheltered her kids from reality, making them want it more. They found it and acted up; she hit them. They were probably told all these terrible things about sex and attraction, which only led to them finding out about it amongst each other.

i guarantee you, NOBODY was saying that her behaviour with her kids was right. there are alot of probing questions about the case; some here in israel are talking about taking action against neighbours, in lieu of The Good Samaritan Law (apparently Israel has one) who claim they ‘knew something was wrong’ but did not know the full extent of what was going on… according to their claims.. so maybe they were ignorant. and maybe they just turned a blind eye. but i dont think that if any of them knew what was really going on that it would have lasted this long ( 1- this psycho admitted to the accusations, and 2- they were constantly moving around the country to avoid authoritites and social workers).
It’s obvious she’s got serious fucked up issues. a helluva lot more complex than the average charedi mom getting pissed off at her yeshiva bochur son for not wearing his hat and jacket in the street.
take one look at her, read about her; it doesnt take a rocket-scientist to figure it out.
