"Coercing the Palestinians to surrender to Zionism, either through brute force as Israel has been doing, or economic inducements as Peres is trying to do, or both, would only keep the embers of injustice smoldering thinly beneath the surface.
So, what Peres and his ilk view as “Jewish ingenuity” will eventually be proven an expression of visionless arrogance and poor statesmanship."In addition to uttering his usual quotable but mendacious sound-bites about the Palestinians and their enduring plight, Peres is spending time these days trying to convince the world that Iran is Nazi Germany number-2 and its President Ahmadinejad is Adolph Hitler.
Well, how could any person with an iota of honesty and rectitude compare Nazi Germany, which destroyed Europe and caused the death of tens of millions of people, with Iran, a third world country whose only “crime” is its refusal to be subservient to the American-Zionist hegemony?
Besides, it is amply clear that Peres, who played a key role in introducing nuclear weapons to the Middle East via the French connection several decades ago, is utterly unqualified to lecture the world about an alleged Iranian nuclear threat."
It's a mystery, Shimon Peres. On the one hand, seemingly very progressive, he's a bit of a darling of some liberals and conservatives alike, saying often all the rightest things one can say, about morality and responsibility… and he's been the longest standing person in power in Israel, no matter what "Shake ups" happen in government, he always comes up on top. Has anyone noticed that he's 88, but seems to have stopped aging twenty years ago? Blood transfusions from Palestinian children? hm…

You may have heard of Rev. John Hagee, the McCain supporter who said God created Hurricane Katrina to punish New Orleans for its homosexual “sins.” Well now meet Rev. Rod Parsley, the televangelist megachurch pastor from Ohio who hates Islam. According to David Corn of Mother Jones, Parsley has called on Christians to wage war against Islam, which he considers to be a “false religion.” In the past, Parsley has also railed against the separation of church and state, homosexuals, and abortion rights, comparing Planned Parenthood to Nazis.
John McCain actively sought and received Parsley’s endorsement in the presidential race. McCain has called Parsley “a spiritual guide,” and he hasn’t said whether he shares Parsley’s vicious anti-Islam views. That’s because the mainstream media refuses to ask.

Shachar- you just answered your own question
the baal peor eats kaka
baal peor , now that’s a cool religion,
It needs a come back!
GOOD Shabbos!
Shachar please, you don’t know the first thing about Islam,
The term ‘Islam’ only became definitive for Mohammedans about 200 years ago. It means submission, and signifies the minimal outward profession of faith, Mu’umin (believer) is the more common term, both in the Qur’an and in emic sources. Amun is a syncretist religion at heart, a characteristic which is reflected both in the Qur’an, and in the life-ways of many of its practitioners. It is not for nothing that Shabbetai Tzvi chose the Mohammedean faith as a channel through which to work on unifying humanity.
The first five steps of Islam are:
1: The outward profession of faith: La illaha illa Llah (Ein od milvado) Mohammed ar rasul Allah (Mohammed is the prophet of Allah)
2: Salat (5 daily prayers) - more of an ideal than a requirement
3: tzedaka
4: Hajji - more of an ideal - the Kaaba is often thought of as a place within - sort of the way “tzion” is envisioned in late Jewish and early christian thought
5: the Muezzin - the idea that people are unified through prayer
these are the very basic, elemental components of islam - but there is so much more - a lifetime of study would not suffice for you to learn it all
it is a shame that you define Islam by the selective interpretations of the late nationalistic ‘reformers’ (fundamentalists) because this their very goal: to make their watered-down, legalistic version of Islam the sole authoritative version - and force it upon muslims and westerners alike as the only interpretation - rejecting all mystical and humanistic tradition as “innovation”
The real irony here is that you are a very close counterpart to islamic fundamentalists; you are a close-minded, jewish fundamentalist
