I don’t know but to me it seems neither was assaulted - it was a total accident and you can watch the whole thing play out in slow motion…

i have watched it many times over and i see no accident, it clearly shows the cop pushing the bicyclist.

It’s hard to tell their speed and the context from the perspective of the camera…it’s not like actually witnessing it happen - maybe he did maybe he didn’t…he could have been startled by the bike crashing into him…it’s not a hundred percent clear who is crashing into who because look from where on the street the bicyclist is coming – he was heading right at the cop and swerved to the left at the last second while the cop may have already begun to run across the street to get out of his way, both of them remaining in each other’s paths the whole time.

from what i see, it seems that the cop first walked in to the path of the bicyclist, then as the bicyclist veered away, the cop takes big steps in the same direction as the bicyclist.
if the cop was trying to get out of the way, then he should have gone in the other direction, it’s not hard to tell which way the bicyclist is going.

you can see it clearly in full speed, the cop picks up speed and then reaches out violently with both hands to knock the guy over
