The Israelis have a very effective policing system considering the circumstances. In the words of abba eban “we fight therefore we are”.
The mediums include unharnessed brutality. Any bystander of a demonstration in meah shearim is liable to clubbing and beating followed by arrest and imprisonment under extremely inhumane circumstances.
I have a freind who was bitten (yes, bitten) by a prison guard in the russian compuond in jerusalem.
to him this comes as no surprise.

Israel was conceived as a state at war its very existence depends on the continuation of this struggle-we fight therefore we are.Any change to this war status would mean the fall of its elite ruling class- and all the people tied to them- 99% of the Jewish population and apx. 25% of the Arabs[including the former PLO] There is no chanch of a change. Elections mean nothing ;there were never any democratic institutions.The only long term vision is one of Apocalyptic destruction {including all Diaspora communities weakened by the fall of their protector]Would it only be true that these words are lies-but everyone who’s been here senses it and the world knows it to be true- its just like Jud ism we lie to ourselves and then get everyone to commit to a shared deception-THE SACRED LIE-JOSH LAFER’s wedding is this weekend.The holocaust was our attempt to break out -but it’s meaning was brutally repressed by Yad Vashem- Israel’s political arm of the Wests brutal collusion in the torture and murder of a hundred million people.What point is there in continued self-deception? Are not these words the product of a lifetime of brokenness dedicated to the Jewish people in the Jewish state? Yes I’m sick and poor and defeated -but that’s not what matters-I’m calling out to you to think about what your heart knows to be true.
