Woe to the eyes and ears…
It is without joy or rancor that I write what I am about to. It is only to reveal the perniciousness of a disease and its spread when unchecked. I have from an extremely reliable source which I will not reveal so the decision is yours whether to believe this or not.
First, that Shmuel Borger, Motty's father, is a known molester. Secondly, that he molested Motty himself. Third, that Motty himself molested others. I have heard many times of these chains of molestaion many times from professionals in the field. I and everyone else I spoke to found Shmuel Borger's anouncement out of place and detached from reality. Now i understand it. Unfortunately, more details to come.

you ask if it’s true. did i see shmuely borger molest his son or anyone else, NO. these people don’t do it b’rabim. motti borger did what he thought was his only way out/kaporoh, b’rabim. that’s how we knew something’s wrong. then until his kallah told a newspaper, it was again a chet to say he committed suicide. these things thrive off secrecy. i was told by somebody who i consider an eyd ne’emon that a neighbor of motty’s told him that Motty molested his little daughter. i’ve been told that shmuel borger has a stepdaughter who’s had nervous breakdowns from what she endured. i’ve heard Shmuel’s current wife referred to as a battered woman. I don’t know what happened to his first wife. will the police do an investigation, i don’t know, unless motty told his kallah who molested him, i doubt it. we will probably never know the truth but motti paid the ultimate price for that fact and his father preydigt vi peysach krohn.

As a young teenager at the time of Amudai Shaish I recall the scandal. One of his soloists whom has long since left and living somewhere who knows where was his dedicated Lover boy. There were many more that is why Amudai Shaish was closed down so that he shouldn’t be working with kids.

Can somebody explain this contradiction:
Most frum people when told about molestation will claim that it is libel, or in other words “You are making it up and YOU are the pig for talking like that”, and “No kid ever got sick from that”.
So explain to me how come that it is a blemish on the kid for life, and he is considered DAMAGED GOODS for shidduchim?

I sent the following email to Shmuel Borger after I heard his audio post:
” Please accept my condolences on the tragic loss of your son, Motty, z’l. I cannot imagine the heartache that you and your family are experiencing at this time.
I was moved to write this note by your audio message asking everyone to fight the Yetzer Horah by making shalom with friend and relatives and by inviting them to simchas. I am perplexed. Your son is niftar under unusual circumstances and your mind focuses on machlokes with family members? What is wrong with this picture? What am I missing? There is something here that does not make sense.
I am sure that you are aware of the NY Post article which relays a rumor (fact?) that your son was molested and that was the cause of the tragedy. If that is true, wouldn’t it have been more proper and appropriate to speak out against the stone wall that has been erected in our community against persons going to the civil authorities to report matters of abuse? Couldn’t you have used your forum to protest against our rabbanim who bury their heads in the sand and who are the cause of so much machlokes and agmas nefesh to many frum Jews?
There is a disconnect between your message and the tragedy unless you believe that your failure to invite a friend or family member to your son’s wedding was the cause of his death. if the frum society ever became mature enough to deal with these issues in a serious, intelligent, professional manner maybe we wouldn’t have to go to the authorities. but as long as our rabonim and leaders are buffoons and jackasses we have no choice.

While I was reluctant to link to this posting at first, I am now getting some interesting information privately through emails. I am more convinced that whether or not Shitalpin’s post is accurate there is a story of serious abuse involving SB that needs telling. I think it would be helpful if we could have more information about the Shmuel and Motty Borger chronology to facilitate investigation. I am talking about which shuls, schools, camps, other youth activities etc. Please feel free to post on my site, here or wherever. When it is appropriate, in my judgment I will pass such information on to folks investigating this problem.
If the rabbonim and askonim don’t like it they can clean up the stable themselves and I can do more fun things like blog about chazanus.

I don’t know if SB is a molester, but I know first hand that he is an outright crook and thief, with absolutley no moral compass. He ripped me off 25 years ago as a very young man for a very large sum of money. I knew back then he had many issues. This man should be avoided at all cost. He is really bad news. I don’t wish this on anybody, but I guess there is a G-d after all.

this story is heartbreaking. Motty a”h may have molested some ppl himself bc that is the vicious cycle of molestation. A big percentage of children that were molested/abused go on to molest others. It is not their fault. Its a rachmanus! Motty a”h is no longer with us and i did not know him but it is wrong of all those ppl out there to go around talking bad about him that he molested others. I, myself, was molested by someone who was molested a bunch of times when he was a child. Thank god i went to therapy for it but there are many people out there that were molested and are not getting help for it. Sadly, thats what it seemed happened to Motty a”h- that he was molested and didnt get the help he needed. We should not go around saying that Motty a”h molested others even if it may be true. We cannot ask forgiveness from him since he isnt here. May all those that were abused get the help they need and may we not hear of anymore tragedies as this one.

I never heard of motti before this incident, but I respect Motti’s decision to end his life. I believe it was a noble and ehrliche decision considering the circumstance, and appears to consitute a form of teshuva for his sins.
However it is truly unfortunate that he could not get help before he reached the point of no return.
There are many molestors who can be helped. Especially if they are caught young.

it is a credit to motti’s memory to tell the truth about him, and use it as an example for what society needs to do. It also might provide some nechama to the victims, allowing him to obtain their forgiveness even in death.

I also encourage molestors who are still alive, who have been punished and treated and are in recovery, to STAND UP and tell their story to the community, to serve as an example to other potential molestors. Let their shame atone for their sins as well.

you may be right but society also has to understand that motty a”h was nebach a victim of abuse. Victims think it is a normal way of life and therefore, when they go on to become molesters themselves, they dont even know that they are doing something wrong. it was just a thought i had that since he is not here and he died in such a terrible way, we should give respect to his neshama and not say “motty, the molester”, instead the blame should be put on his father.
My heart goes out for this bc as a victim of abuse, i so can relate to the pain, shame, embarrassment that motty a”h felt.

At a certain age, we become responsible for our own actions. If Motti molested than he is a molester. He is both a victim and a perpetrator. Enough whitewashing the truth.
There is no reason we the community can not learn to have compassion for a dead molestor and hold him accountable at the same time.
This goes for recovered molestors as well.
